Our Programs

Pulaarvik holds 5 departments in our organization, along with our Adminstrators.

 

Pulaarvik Programs

  • Addictions On the Land Program - Our vision of this program is to support Individuals in Rankin through providing a 28-day OTL addictions treatment. This program will have 8 participants during each intake, we plan for the OTL addictions treatment to occur in Fall of 2023. We may delay our OTL treatment if we do not have all the necessities of upholding a 28 day addictions treatment program. Stay tuned for updates! Our counsellors provide addiction counselling and support.

  • Community Counsellors - Our mission is to support the mental health and wellness of all Inuit through counselling services and cultural programs. Our roles are running programs that benefit Kivalliq communities, counselling for individuals/families/spouses, and we also provide crisis support teams to travel within Kivalliq when a fatal tragedy occurs.

  • Spousal Abuse Counselling Program - Our mission for this program is to create safe spaces to heal, grow, and prosper. Our SAP counsellors provide counselling services to court-mandated clients and provide a certificate of completion on the final session, and we also run programs with court-mandated clients. Our clients are referred through court hearings.

  • Men’s Program - Our mission is to deliver culturally appropriate community-based programming to positively affect the lives of Inuit men in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut through traditional skill development and mental health awareness.

    Our goal is to create stronger and healthier communities by increasing the skills, capacity, and mental health of unemployed men in the Kivalliq region. We offer programs for men within our communities.

  • Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program - Their mission is to help improve the health of pregnant woman, new mothers, and their babies, who face challenges that put their health at risk. CPNP runs beneficial programs, and they also provide food hampers to pregnant woman and new mothers in their community.
